Zirconia is a white and aesthetic material which is used as a framework for porcelain crown. Previously, only metal material was used as a porcelain crown framework. This metal image was reflecting an unaesthetic , faint and grayish appearance under porcelain. Since zirconia was started to used as a framework for porcelain, crowns were having better aesthetic results and looking closer to natural appearance.
