Gum disease is the main reason of tooth loss and very common in our society. The main reason of those disease, is microbial dental plaque located on teeth because of poor oral hygiene. Besides, factors like smoking, diabetes, genetical factors, crowding of teeth are important for increasing the severity of the disease.

In the first phase of the disease, gums are observed reddish, edematous and bleeding easily. If the disease is not treated, resorption of bone that surrounding teeth, recession of gums, loosening of teeth and as a result missing teeth can be observed.
